Welcome to our Library!
The Library's media section is now open for browsing. We ask that you bring any materials that are touched to the front desk. There will be cart stationed there for your unwanted materials. Any materials for check-out can be presented to the circulation staff. The Library will continue to provide contactless pickup and computer/ copier services. Please follow the same procedures listed below.
**Anyone who has a fever, cough, chills or is otherwise not feeling well or who are self-quarantining should not visit the library. When entering and for your entire time inside the library, all patrons ages 2 and up, must be wearing a face covering. Face coverings that completely cover the mouth and nose are mandatory. Masks, bandanas or scarves are acceptable. Hands, shirts, or other clothing are not acceptable face coverings.**

The library will reopen, at reduced capacity, on July 13, 2020.

-New hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm
-The library will be open for computer use only.
-Computer use will be by appointment only. Please call the library ahead of when you plan to come to make your appointment.-
There will be fewer computers available due to spacing requirements. Therefore, computers can only be used once per day for 1 hour – don’t forget your library card! Only one guest pass per person, per day will be provided. Assistance from staff will be provided at a safe distance.
-Please come a few minutes before your scheduled appointment.
-NO EXTRA TIME WILL BE GIVEN!
-The library will shut down for 30 minutes after each computer session (1 hour) in order to disinfect and sanitize each computer station.
-The library will be limiting number of people in the building to 15 at a time, at the discretion of the staff.
-Any patrons 15 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old.
-Browsing will be unavailable at this time. Please use the contactless pickup to obtain materials.
-Local fines will be forgiven until July 17, 2020
- RETURNS must go in the Book Return Box which is sanitized every day. All items removed from the book drop will immediately be placed in quarantine for a short period of time. After that, they will be checked in. Due to this safety procedure, you will not see your returned item come off your card immediately.
-Gloves, if needed, will be available at the reference and circulation desks. Gloves will be limited to 1 pair per patron.
-Bathrooms will be closed.
-The Library will continue to provide contactless pickup. Patrons will be able to pick up items by the front door following the same procedure listed below.
-Please follow social distancing signage that is posted around the library.
Monday June 15, 2020:
The Little Ferry Library will begin curbside pickup! Please refer to the following guidelines and instructions:
-Available Monday- Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
-10 a.m. - 11 a.m. each day: At risk individuals pickup.
-Patrons can call the library (201-641-3721) and request the staff search for materials. You can also request materials online at BCCLS.org for materials that are in our library only. If the library has the requested material, we will take your name and library barcode number for phone requests. You will have to call again before you plan to pick it up.
-When you pick up your requested material, the library will have a cart in the vestibule with the requested material and check-out receipt. Materials will be covered with plain white paper with the patron's last name and first initial written on the spine, so patrons can identify their materials. Only ONE person at a time is allowed in the vestibule.
-At risk individuals will be able to pick up requested materials following the same instructions as above. The vestibule will be disinfected before and after each pick-up. It is also possible to request a staff member to walk to the car if you are not able to enter the vestibule. A staff member place materials in the TRUNK of your car.
-Library will hold materials for 3 days. Any items on hold must be picked up within that 3 days.
-Starting out, there will be a 5 material per patron limit. You will be able to place holds on materials again, but the system will only fill the holds from our local collection.
-RETURNS must go in the Book Return Box which will be sanitized every day.
-FINES will be forgiven and all materials have been extended to 6/28.
-A MASK MUST BE WORN AT TIME OF PICKUP. Please use social distancing guidelines when applicable.
There will be a Board Meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom. All the information to access the meeting will be posted here on July 15, 2020 at 12:45 p.m.
